This year's Spotter Appreciation Day was a huge
succes! Over 150 people traveled from all over the Texas and Oklahoma
panhandles to enjoy the food, drinks, and good times. Each year
the National Weather Service in Amarillo hosts a picnic to thank
the many spotters and cooperative observers who volunteer their
time and energy to support the mission of the NWS. Without their
constant and loyal help, we here at the Weather Service would
be unable to provide the level of service that we strive for.
The Spotter Appreciation Day is a small token of our gratitude
to ALL those who provide us with the quality and timly information
that we use every day. We hope all who attended enjoyed the event
and we invite all who could not attend to come out next year and
take part in the 2006 Spotter Appreciation Day!
