Greeley, Mine Health and Safety Program Supervisor, Workplace Safety and Health Division Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Standards Hallowell Annex, State House Station #45 Augusta, ME 04333-0045 The State of Maine is committed to providing quality training to miners and contract employees working at mining operations throughout the state, in order to reduce mining fatalities, injuries and illnesses. By reviewing past accidents, the Maine training program focuses on prevention of similar accidents such as those involving powered haulage, machinery, electrical hazards, and delivery and water truck drivers, and customers. Conducting courses in 30 CFR parts 46 and 48 Annual Refresher and 30 CFR part 56 attempts to address the most common problems shared by mining operations in Maine. Topics presented may include:
