State of Arkansas Program Summary

Salkeld, Director Susan Weaver, Labor Safety Consultant Supervisor Arkansas Department of Labor 10421 West Markham Little Rock, AR 72205 The Arkansas training program conducts consultation visits to small mining operation to offer training and technical assistance that supports accident prevention and makes appropriate recommendations for hazard correction that will bring mining facilities into compliance with Federal MSHA, NEC, and ANSI regulations. Courses offered by the Arkansas MSHA Program include:
Regional seminars on specific current health and safety hazards are conducted across the state as needed. The program conducts an annual state MSHA conference to provide specific education and training, technical assistance, and consultation to mine managers, mine safety professionals, and miners. Regular meetings of the Holmes Safety Association Councils are coordinated by the program as well.
