The Census Bureau's 12 Regional Offices conduct data workshops, seminars and training sessions, and site visits that reach virtually every segment of the American population.

State Data Centers are located in state agencies, universities, libraries, and regional and local governments (in each state, the District of Columbia, American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands). These Centers provide easy and efficient access to U.S. Census Bureau data and information. The State Data Centers also provide training and technical assistance, among other services.

Census Information Centers are located at 59 national, regional, and local non-profit organizations, which represent the interests of underserved communities. These centers provide access to census information for the public and the communities they serve.

The Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) disseminates information products from all three branches of the Government to more than 1,300 libraries nationwide. Libraries that have been designated as Federal depositories maintain these information products as part of their existing collections and are responsible for assuring that the public has free access to the material provided by the FDLP. Each congressional district has at least one depository library. Libraries identified as Regional Depository Libraries usually have extensive collections of Census Bureau publications and electronic products. Other depository libraries often have a more limited selection of census products.

Census Depository Libraries
The Census Bureau has designated (123) libraries throughout the country as Census Depository Libraries (CDLs). The libraries are located in cities with a population greater than 25,000 and are in a Metropolitan Statistical Area served by a Federal Depository Library (FDL). Just as the FDLs, the CDLs receive Census Bureau publications, CD-ROMs, and information free of charge and in exchange, provide local no-fee access, and assistance in using the information.
