Census Transportation Planning Package
Comprehensive source of data on commuters and commuting patterns for transportation planning. Tabulation sponsored by state departments of transportation under a pooled funding arrangement with the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO).
  1. CTPP Place of Residence Profiles. Selected long-form data (vehicles available, travel time to work, household income, etc.) from Summary File 3, with two new tables: the first is household size by vehicle availability, and the second is travel time by mode to work.

  2. CTPP Part 1: Detailed Residence Tabulations. Consists of 120 tables on commuters and commuting by place of residence.



     
  3. CTPP Part 2. Detailed Workplace Tabulations. Consists of 66 tables -- only product to show characteristics of workers by place of employment.

County of Residence by County of Work by Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) Industrial Code Structure by Mean Earnings
Detailed file showing number of workers, along with their BEA industry of employment (11 industry categories) and their mean earnings in 1999. Provides county of residence by county of work totals for county-to-county worker flows that are based on three or more (unweighted) long form records. Mean earnings are only shown when based on data for three or more workers.

County-to-County Migration Flow Files
These migration data come from the Census 2000 long-form question on residence 5 years ago and contain the number of people who moved between counties. A data record was produced for every combination of county-to-county migration flows in the United States of at least one person between 1995 and 2000. Current county of residence is based on where the person was living on April 1, 2000. Previous county or residence is based on where the person was living 5 years earlier.
  1. Inflow Files: For each county-to-county migration flow in the United States, the number of migrants who moved to a county from another county.
  2. Outflow Files: For each county-to-county migration flow in the United States, the number of migrants who moved from a county to another county.
