WOMAN Activity Tracker

3,892 people and 365 teams are participating in the WOMAN Activity Tracker!
Here is what others are saying about the
WOMAN Activity Tracker & the 2008 WOMAN Challenge!

"Because of the challenge, I have become more aware of my daily activity level. Wearing a pedometer all day and working toward my daily goal has motivated me to get up and move! Having a desk job, it had become too easy not to exercise. This challenge was just what I needed to get moving again."

"We are a group of women from across the country that are looking to improve our lifestyles, and increase our "motion". The benefits of exercise are enormous. Most of us also have weight loss goals we are looking to acheive, so this is just a part of our journey. We met on, and participate in threads on Dottie's Weight Loss Zone, and have set up a team support thread there. Go team Mountain Climbers! We are doing great so far, ladies!"

All About Teams

How do I create or join a team?

You can take part in the WOMAN Activity Tracker both as an individual and as part of a team. Not only can being part of a team help motivate you, it can also be a great way to stay in touch with friends and family across the country! Research has shown that being on a team can help you stay committed to the WOMAN Activity Tracker and reach your activity goals.

Steps for being on a team:

  1. Recruit teammates from family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors. Choose a team leader. In the My WOMAN Activity Tracker, the team leader creates the team and selects team members, once they have registered. Also, the team leader should help motivate her teammates, encourage them to log their physical activity each day, and congratulate them on their successes!

  2. If you will be the team leader — After registering for WOMAN Activity Tracker, visit the My WOMAN Activity Tracker page. Click on Create a Team to create and name the team. To select your team members and add them to your new team, visit the My Team page. Choose Add Team Members and follow the instructions on the page.

  3. If you will not be the team leader — After registering for WOMAN Activity Tracker, visit the My WOMAN Activity Tracker page. Click on Find a Team to Join, choose a state from the list of states with teams, and then pick the name of the team your team leader has created. Join the team by following the instructions on the page.

Team communication tools

To help team members stay motivated, team leaders must be able to easily communicate with their teammates. Below are some web sites that team leaders can use to stay connected:

  • Social Networking Groups * – Allow users to create a profile, define themselves as part of a group, and communicate with other members of the group.
  • Blogs * – Allow a user, such as a team leader, to create an online journal. Other team members can view the blog and comment on entries made by the team leader.

* These web sites are neither supported nor endorsed by the WOMAN Activity Tracker. For technical support on these web sites, please contact the web site administrator for the site.
