Special Tabulations

Special Tabulation Content

Subject Content

Most data collected within the content of the census short-form and long-form questionnaires could be made available in a special tabulation. Special tabulations are created by tabulating data from the Census 2000 detail files. Both population and housing data are available. Percentages, rates, and other indicators, such as poverty status and selected monthly owner costs, can be calculated as part of a special tabulation.

Geographic Content

In addition to special tabulations for standard census geographic entities, such as states (including the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico), counties, census tracts, American Indian and Alaska Native areas, and so forth, we can tabulate data for user-defined geographic areas. For example, data for a neighborhood could be tabulated using census tracts or other standard geography as the building blocks. We also can provide special tabulations for the U.S. Island Areas (Guam, American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands).
