The Special Olympics are dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to become physically fit, productive and respected members of society through sports training and competition. Join Bob Gobrecht as he discusses the transformational power that Special Olympics brings to disabled athletes, their families and the communities they live in.

Guest Biography: Gobrecht serves as Managing Director for Special Olympics North America, overseeing operations throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. He has taught as an Adjunct Professor of Sport Management at California State University Long Beach and owned his own consulting business based in Southern California. Prior to becoming a professor, Gobrecht was the CEO of Seattle Seafair, the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Seattle Mariners and the Anaheim Angels and Manager of the Disney International Sports Program. Gobrecht is a former Peace Corps volunteer.
