Bachus in the effort to reform the federal deposit insurance system. We share the goals of improving the operation of the system to ensure its long-term strength and soundness, promoting the important role of banks in our nation's economic growth. We look forward to working with the Senate and then with a House-Senate conference where a final bill will be crafted that is consistent with the needs of depositors, the banking industry, and the Administration's priorities.”
