Nanoscience Classroom Resources

This collection of lessons and web resources is aimed at classroom teachers, their students, and students’ families. Most of these resources come from the National Science Digital Library (NSDL). NSDL is the National Science Foundation’s online library of resources for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education. See www.nsdl.org

Nanobiotechnology Center
www.nbtc.cornell.edu
Nanobiotechnology is an emerging area of scientific and technological opportunity. The center is committed to education and outreach, taking the discoveries from the laboratory and realizing their potential benefit to society. Nanobiotechnology applies the tools and processes of nano/microfabrication to build devices for studying biosystems. Researchers also learn from biology how to create better micro-nanoscale devices.

NEST: National Enterprise for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology
http://leopardi.cmp.sns.it/
National Enterprise for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, a university program and world-class interdisciplinary research center focused on coherent nanoelectronics, nanobiotechnology and spin electronics.

Nanokids
http://nanokids.rice.edu/
Dedicated to increasing public knowledge of the nanoscale world and the emerging molecular research.

National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI)
http://www.nano.gov/html/edu/eduk12.html
The National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI) is a federal R&D program established to coordinate the multiagency efforts in nanoscale science, engineering and technology. This site contains information about the program and links to educational resources associated with nanotechnology.

Introduction to Nanoscience
