Background The background topic contains information about the water-use program in Tennessee and the type of water-use data found at this web site. Included is information about the Tennessee Division of Water Supply, who cooperatively funds this program with the U.S. Geological Survey and about the national water-use program.

Data Data contain water-use data for 1990 and 1995 that can be downloaded as custom tables or spreadsheet files by category of use by county or watershed (8-digit hydrologic unit).
Metadata Metadata contain documentation on how the 1995 water-use data were compiled by county and watershed (8-digit hydrologic unit). Included is a link to the data dictionary.
Maps Maps contain State maps comparing water use by county for total, surface-water and ground-water withdrawals and public supply, industrial, and thermoelectric use. Included are reference maps with county and watershed boundaries.
Graphics Graphics contain bar and pie charts summarizing water-use trends and sources of supply and categories for 1995.
Links Links contains USGS and TDEC links to water-related web sites that will provide a broader understanding of water resources in Tennessee.
Glossary The glossary lists water-related terms that might help you understand our site better.
