Export Requirements for St. Kitts and Nevis

Eligible/Ineligible Products
  1. Boneless beef
    1. Boneless beef, including ground beef, derived from cattle less than 30 months of age produced under an approved AMS Export Verification (EV) Less Than 30 (LT30) months of age program. Information about the EV program for St. Kitts and Nevis and a list of Less Than 30 (LT30) months of age approved establishments can be obtained from the following Web site: https://webarchive.library.unt.edu/eot2008/20080923015038/http://www.ams.usda.gov/lsg/arc/bev.htm.

      If FSIS inspection personnel become aware of concerns that an AMS approved LT30 establishment is not properly executing its Quality Control Program, export certification should not be issued for the product in question and AMS should be notified at ARCBranch@usda.gov. Inspection personnel should include their immediate supervisor on messages to AMS. The following information should be included in the message:
      • Establishment name, address, and establishment number.
      • Product type, product code, and quantity of product.
      • Date of production, lot number, and shift.
      • Date and nature of observation.
      • Name of country product is intended for export.
      • Export certificate number (if applicable).
      • Any other information to verify claim.
      • Name of inspection official.

      Veal and veal products are not subject to the LT30 program.

Certification Requirements
  1. Boneless beef (including ground beef) derived from cattle slaughtered in the U.S., if the slaughter establishment and all subsequent processing establishments are on an AMS´ list of "EV/LT 30" for St. Kitts and Nevis approved establishments and the export applicant certifies that "The product was produced under an Export Verification (EV) Less Than 30 (LT30) months of age program that was audited and approved by the United State Department of Agriculture´s Agricultural Marketing Service", the following statements should be provided in the Remarks section of FSIS 9060-5:*
    1. "The beef originated from animals that were less than thirty (30) months old at the time of slaughter.
    2. The beef does not include advanced recovery beef.
    3. The beef was produced as boneless beef.
    4. The beef contains no specified risk material including brain, eyes, trigeminal ganglia, spinal cord, tonsils nor intestines."

    Note: Effective March 23, 2007, a Statement of Verification letter from AMS is no longer required to sign the FSIS export certificate. AMS will no longer issue the letter for St. Kitts and Nevis as of that date. All other EV program requirements for St. Kitts and Nevis remain in effect.*

Plants Eligible to Export

All federally inspected establishments are eligible to export to St. Kitts and Nevis.
