OAI are those violations where the inspected firm is required to implement corrective action in order to be in compliance with the regulation. A typical example of an OAI violation is manufacturing procedures insufficient to ensure that ruminant feed is not contaminated with prohibited material. Firms classified with OAI violations will be promptly re-inspected to determine whether adequate corrective actions have been implemented

VAI violations are those that while technically violations of the Ruminant Feed Ban provision are not considered as significant as the OAI deviations. Examples of VAI violations include minor recordkeeping lapses and conditions involving non-ruminant feeds.

Some fields may be blank as a result of design differences between the previous and current versions of the BSE/Ruminant Feed inspection database. Database information is constantly updated.
