How often does Spokane experience temperatures that hit or exceed 100 degrees? The short answer is not very often. In fact, 100+ degree heat is quite rare in Spokane. The period from late July through mid-August is typically when the Spokane area and much of the Inland Northwest experiences its hottest temperatures.

Since 1990, temperatures at or above 100 degrees have been recorded in less than half of the summers (7 out of 18).

In contrast, Wenatchee, Lewiston and other locations in the lower valleys and upper Columbia Basin experience far more days at or above 100 degrees.

The table below shows the distribution of 100+ degree days in Spokane since 1990. Note that weather records for Spokane are based on official data collected at Spokane International Airport (KGEG), which has been the official site since 1947. Prior to 1947, weather records were kept near downtown Spokane, nearly 400 feet lower than the airport.
