Scientists are particularly interested in Saturn's moon Titan because it's one of the few known moons with its own dense atmosphere. Titan's atmosphere is also thought to be very similar to what Earth's atmosphere was a long time ago. By learning about Titan, we'll learn about our own planet.

Cassini probe snaps photos of Ganymede, Callisto and Europa

The Cassini spacecraft has returned new images of the giant planet Jupiter alongside its largest moons. Three of the moons -- Ganymede, Callisto and Europa -- are suspected of holding oceans of water beneath their icy surfaces. Astrobiologists believe that liquid water is a necessary precondition for life.

Cassini is passing by Jupiter on its way to Saturn and Saturn's moon Titan.
