Scientists are particularly interested in Saturn's moon Titan because it's one of the few known moons with its own dense atmosphere. Titan's atmosphere is also thought to be very similar to what Earth's atmosphere was a long time ago. By learning about Titan, we'll learn about our own planet.

NASA Announces Spitzer Planet Finder Update

Astronomers using NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope will hold a media teleconference at 1 p.m. EDT Wednesday, April 5 to announce the discovery of a strange place where planets might be forming. Images and graphics supporting the briefing will be posted online at the start of the briefing and audio of the event will be streamed live.

Understanding how and where planets form will help scientists estimate the potential number of habitable environments in the Universe.
