A letter to Honorable Kevin J. Martins, FCC Chairman

Wednesday, June 11, 2008. Recently, the American Association of the Deaf-Blind sent a letter to the Honorable Kevin J. Martin, the chairman of the Federal Communication Commission (FCC), in regards to the lack of Video Relay Service (VRS) for those deaf-blind individuals who cannot access this important service. We are requesting that the FCC host a summit as soon as possible to address all communication issues related to deaf-blind people, including Communication Facilitators (CFs). As one of the outcomes, AADB wants the FCC to require or mandate that all VRS providers to provide CF services to those deaf-blind people who need it, under the ADA. COAT’s Press Release on NARUC’s Resolution

The Coalition of Organizations for Accessible Technology has issued a press release applauding the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commission (NARUC) for passing a resolution in supporting, “Equal Access to Communication Technologies by People with Disabilities in the 21st Century.” For more details >>>
