Illinois Coal Competitiveness Program grants provide partial funding to improve coal extraction, preparation and transportation systems within Illinois. Illinois Coal Research Program grants provide partial funding to research clean coal technology, coal chemistry, mining productivity and coal combustion byproduct utilization.
