The Institute of Medicine (IOM) has issued a report sponsored by the American Legacy Foundation, Ending the Tobacco Epidemic: A Blueprint for the Nation, a comprehensive roadmap for addressing the nation's number one preventable cause of death.
Smoking in movies increases the likelihood that youth will start smoking. We have joined prominent health and parent organizations around the country to urge the Motion Picture Association of America and movie studios to adopt policies to counter the impact of smoking in movies on youth.
