TELEPHONE DOs and DON'Ts
DOs:
- Use Government telephone
equipment, calling cards, fax machines,
cellular phones and pagers for official business only.
- Use your AT&T calling card for
business calls while you're on official travel or away from the office. You
should limit calls to your residence or immediate family to 10 minutes per
call per day for domestic and international calls.
- Report lost/stolen cards to OOMS
as soon as possible.
- Refer to the World Phone Guide
provided to cardholders for country access codes and helpful calling
information.
- Always keep your calling card in a
secure place when you aren't on official travel.
- To place a conference call to
domestic and international locations, dial AT&T at 1-877-855-4797. Press 1
for audio conferencing and provide your program unit access code (see below)
or press option 6 if you need assistance.

- Answer telephones at the office
director level and above between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Limit voice mail to
extenuating circumstances at the office director level and above during these
times.
- Record a voice mail greeting when
you will be away from the office for more than a day (e.g. travel, sick or
annual leave).
- Report changes in the ITA
Telephone Directory to OOMS via E-MAIL.
DON'T:
- Use Government telephone
equipment, calling cards, fax machines, cellular phones and pagers for
personal business.
- Charge unauthorized personal
telephone calls to the Government with the intent to repay at a later
date.
- Use
your AT&T calling card to place conference calls.
