In
its FY 2006 appropriation, the General Service Administration (GSA)
received funding to repair some of the most serious problems in the
Herbert C. Hoover Building (HCHB), beginning late this summer. These problems include: water
leakage in the Northeast portion of the building, heating and air
conditioning, and some exterior work. To prepare for this work, ITA and
the Department are reviewing space and updating and consolidating space
records. You should anticipate that
your space may be inspected over the next few weeks. If you
have any questions, please call Hamilton Humes at (202)482-6123. New OOMS Staff Member
Sarah
Siddiqui joined the OOMS staff two weeks ago to take the lead for space
planning (including door signs, CD-410 work requests and building
renovation planning). She can
be reached via email Sarah.Siddiqui@mail.doc.gov
or at (202)482-6123.
Correspondence Due Dates
The ITA Secretariat requests that all draft responses prepared for the Secretary’s signature (A-priority correspondence) be submitted to the Secretariat in a timely manner before or on the date they are due. Draft responses are due to the ITA Secretariat one day before they are due to the Executive Secretariat. Meeting these deadlines will ensure that the Secretariat and the Deputy Under Secretary have adequate time to edit and clear correspondence for the Secretary’s signature well in advance of the due date imposed by the Department’s Executive Secretariat. The ITA Secretariat will send e-mail reminders to ITA’s Correspondence Contacts at least one day before an A-Priority draft response is due. Submission of the draft responses should include the cleared and signed Concurrence Records. If you have questions, please contact the ITA Secretariat staff at (202)482-5101 or by email at ITASEC@ita.doc.gov Amy Duncan is LeavingThe Office of Financial Management bids farewell to our Budget Officer, Amy Duncan, who is leaving ITA on March 3rd to assume similar responsibilities at the Securities and Exchange Commission. An FY 2008 Budget call letter is being drafted by the Office of Financial Management. This memorandum will initiate the FY 2008 Budget process for ITA. A schedule for the FY 2008 process and guidance on drafting programmatic initiatives for the FY 2008 budget year will be included. Key items include one-page summaries of new program initiatives and updated base narratives. The Under Secretary and Deputy Under Secretary will decide which program increases will be included for FY 2008. Any proposals that are approved by ITA are then forwarded to the Department and OMB, before being included in the President's budget request for FY 2008. Additional questions can be directed to Doug Allis at (202)482-9151.

Where Do I Find....ITA Budget and Performance Information? Did you know that ITA has several budget and performance related documents that report ITA's budget, performance and results? The first document describes ITA's budget and performance at the summary level. This document is entitled the Budget in Brief. The “BIB”, as it is commonly called, is available in PDF format on the DOC budget office web site at: http://www.osec.doc.gov/bmi/budget/07BIB/ita.pdf.
Finally, there is also a document that reflects ITA's past financial accountability and performance. This document is the Performance and Accountability (PAR) and the most recent version reflects ITA performance and accountability for FY 2005. The PAR for the entire Department is available at: http://www.osec.doc.gov/bmi/budget/FY05PAR.htm. ITA is described under the Department's strategic goal 1. For further information on budget, planning and performance management, contact Doug Allis at (202)482-9151 or Ed Meyer at (202)482-3304. |
