ITA Quarterly Orientation Program

ITA will host its first Quarterly Orientation Program for new employees on July 15, 2003 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. in room 6059. Senior management staff will be there to give new employees an overview of the ITA organization, to discuss ITA's mission, goals and objectives and to provide an understanding of how the ITA programs interact. If you joined the ITA organization since January of this year, please look for a special email invitation to join us for this event. Reminder - ITA Year End Close Procedures Training

There is still plenty of space available for the Year End Close Procedures Training on July 15, & 16, 2003.   This is a great opportunity to have your questions and concerns on upcoming FY 2003 Year End Close Procedures answered by the accounting staff from the Department of Interior (DOI).   To register contact: Crystal Bush at (202) 482-8365 or email Crystal_Bush@ita.doc.gov .

Property Ordered on Purchase Cards

Purchase Card Holders must remember to give your property custodians the records they need to enter all accountable property into the FFS property inventory system. In order to successfully complete the annual inventory, we have to make sure that all accountable items are promptly entered into the property inventory system as soon as you receive equipment ordered on your purchase card.  If you have questions, contact Jeff Scherr at (202)482-3266.

Procurement of Food and Beverages

If you plan to include food on a procurement request or a purchase card, the food must be paid for with event fees, if associated with a fee-generating event, or hospitality funds, if appropriate. Appropriated funds may not be used to purchase food in most circumstances. If you are including food or beverages as a part of a fee-generating event, they must be included in the event budget. If you are purchasing food or beverages for hospitality, you must have an approved CD-464, "Request for Authorization by Primary Operating Unit for Official Entertainment".  The remaining FY 2003 funds have been committed for events by the Secretary and Under Secretary, Please call before making obligations that cannot be approved.  If you have questions, please contact Mary Ann McFate at (202)482-5436 or at maryann_mcfate@ita.doc.gov
