How are we going to advance health information technology standards?

Significant progress has already been made in working with industry experts to develop health care terminology and messaging standards which allow for greater interoperability among information systems. Employers are encouraged to request that the health insurance plans, third party administrators, providers, and others with which they contract adopt those standards that promote more efficient and accurate flow of information among insurers and health care providers.
