Title: Re-useable Tamper Indicating Label Fixture

Aliases: None

Technical Challenge: Current tamper indicating labels have two main problems with their usage. The first problem is the ability to get pressure sensitive labels to adhere well to a variety of surfaces such as concrete, unfinished wood, Teflon, etc. The second problem is finding an easy way to remove the labels. This invention will allow the use of labels where labels have not been an acceptable method of tamper technology by permitting labels to be used on surfaces that normally do not work well with a pressure sensitive label. In addition, The Re-Useable Tamper Indicating Label Fixture provides an easy way to remove tamper evident labels while permitting enhance security.

Description: The Re-Useable Tamper Indicating Label Fixture or Re-Useable Fixture is a scalable unit designed to provide a disposable, smooth surface to affix tamper-indicating labels. One fixture half is attached to one side of a door or equipment panel etc and the other half is attached to the doorjamb or the equipment. A disposable "blank" is inserted and attached to each fixture half. The door or equipment is closed and the label is applied. With this invention, labels can be used on surfaces that typically will not accept a pressure sensitive tamper-indicating label. Examples include: concrete, unfinished wood, laminates, Teflon, stippled/pebbly surfaces, leather. In addition, the Re-Useable Tamper Indicating Label Fixture allows labels to be easily used and re-used without having to clean the residue before each use. Tamper Indicating Label sizes can range from small 1"x2" to something as large as 5"x6".

Demonstration Capability: A demonstration is available.

Potential Commercial Application(s): The Re-useable Tamper Indicating Label Fixture can be used in several applications ranging from Industrial Security to anytime there is a need to determine if unauthorized entry has taken place in a secured area (i.e., room, enclosure, cargo area, luggage compartment)

Patent Status:A patent application has been filed with USPTO.
