2008 Conservation Security ProgramLast Modified: 06/25/2008 The Conservation Security Program (CSP) is a voluntary program that provides financial and technical assistance to promote the conservation and improvement of soil, water, air, energy, plant and animal life, and other conservation purposes on Tribal land private working lands. Working lands include cropland, grassland, prairie land, improved pasture, and range land, as well as forested land that is an incidental part of an agriculture operation. The program provides equitable access to benefits to all producers, regardless of size of operation, crops produced, or geographic location. CSP 2008 in MarylandIn 2008, conservation stewards in the Gunpowder-Patapsco watershed, which includes most of Baltimore County and portions of Anne Arundel, Carroll, Harford and Howard Counties, will have the opportunity to participate in USDA's Conservation Security Program (CSP). Sign-up will be held April 18, 2008 to May 30, 2008. Producers with the majority of their land inside these watershed boundaries have met the first criteria for eligibility in this program. The sign-up will only include those producers who do not have an existing CSP contract. Please check back frequently for updates Public Information Meetings
