Brief Description: | The Sheridan County CERT Team Program was officially launched in March, 2003. Since then, over 150 citizens have received the CERT training. Sheridan County CERT Team has been called out three (3) times. Police Department requested CERT and their equipment for assistance with lighting during the murder investigation on Big Horn Avenue (July 2004); Fire Department requested CERT to assist with evacuating citizens from Avoca Avenue to Coffeen School during the natural gas leak (December 2004); Sheridan County Emergency Management requested CERT's assistance with sandbagging at the City Shop during the flooding (April/May 2005). Brief Description: | Laramie County CERT was inaugurated March 1999. The program graduated its first 24 students in April 1999. The 7-week program is designed to teach residents how to prepare for and respond to emergencies in their homes, workplaces, and to prepare them to respond to disasters in the community. More training took place in the summer of 2003, graduating 51 volunteers. Volunteers are trained in risk analysis, fire suppression, disaster medical operations, light search and rescue, and psychology. Teamwork is highly stressed. |

Using CERT materials, local communities train teams of neighborhood volunteers and employees in the workplace in emergency preparedness and response skills. Brief Description: | The Campbell County Community Emergency Response Team Program was officially launched in October of 2002. Over 35 people in Campbell County have received CERT Training, and interest for the program in the community is growing. Campbell County bosts over 10 volunteer CERT instructors with backgrounds including Fire Department, EMS, Mine Safety & Rescue, Emergency Management, Red Cross and School Teachers. Campbell County CERT focuses on teaching hands on skills balanced with classroom education to not only learn each subject, but also to practice it from the start. |

Brief Description: | Natrona County CERT was inaugurated in December 1999 as part of Natrona County's Project Impact Public Awareness and Education program. The program graduated its first 23 students in January 2000 with a second group of 22 students graduated in March of 2000. The eight-week program is designed to teach citizens how to prepare for and respond to emergencies in their homes, their workplaces, and to prepare them to respond to disasters in the community. More training is planned for fall 2000 with three classes being offered carrying the program into spring 2001. Students are trained in risk analysis, fire suppression, disaster medical operations, light search and rescue, and disaster psychology. Teamwork is highly stressed, as nothing is done without assistance. |

Brief Description: | The Converse County CERT Program was implemented when its first 27 members were trained in March, 2004. Classes are scheduled throughout the remainder of 2004 and into 2005. Our goal is to train 150 members from all areas of our county by the end of 2005. We plan to provide them with the uniform CERT training that gives them the skills and confidence to care for themselves, their families, and their neighbors during emergencies. We currently have 6 trainers on board, 5 of whom have attended the Train-the-Trainer course in Emmitsburg, MD. Our training cadre is made up of members of Emergency Management, Fire/HazMat, EMS, Law Enforcement, and a Red Cross First Aid trainer. With the assistance of the CERT grant we purchased and equipped a CERT response trailer. Safety equipment was also purchased for our CERT graduates. |

Brief Description: | Fremont County has developed a core CERT instructor group with participation from local communities and the Shoshone and Arapaho Tribes. Our goal is to take the CERT training into all population centers of the county and recruit students. Then stage mobile CERT equipment trailers in these areas for immediate deployment during disasters. |
