Brief Description: We are located on Miller Peninsula at the eastern most part of Clallam County. We coordinate with Gardiner of Jefferson County at times for training, etc. Our CERT group has 40 members and we have been in existance for 3 years. The fire department let us know that in a true emergency we may have to take care of ourselves which is why we organized. Marydee Countryman has been our Fire Captain at the Diamond Point Volunteer Fire House and was responsible for traning/planning CERT for Clallam these past years.

Brief Description: We use the FEMA program as a guide and have adapted the materials for our county. Forms and exercises have been created to maximize hands-on learning. Classes are three hours long for eight weeks, with the last two weeks dedicated to hands-on, disaster simulation exercises. The triage system has been adapted to the green, yellow, red and black color coding system used by local fire departments. Videos, handouts, study questions, tabletop exercises and practice scenarios are used to reinforce the written material. During and after disasters every citizen can make a difference so we explore individual strengths and interests. CERT graduates are allowed to volunteer in the local emergency management office to further develop and practice their skills.

Brief Description: Vashon CERT training prepares volunteers to act as interim first responders in the event of a disaster. The VIF&R sponsored CERT course requires graduates to complete 32 hours of classroom training and practical exercise. Additionally, there is as a day-long disaster city drill to practice the challenges of command, control and communication as a team. Graduates are encourages to become register emergency workers and attend quarterly meetings where specific skills are reviewed and organizational work is accomplished.

Brief Description: Valley View Middle School has been offering SERT as an optional class since the 2000-2001 school year in cooperation with Snohomish County Fire District #4 and Snohomish County Emergency Management. Through the SERT class, students also earn a first aid/CPR card. Students assist the school with needed emergency preparedness jobs and become part of the school?s emergency team: assisting, observing and evaluating monthly drills; presenting safety information and observations to fellow classmates; checking fire extinguishers and inventorying earthquake kits; ordering supplies; writing up observations; and assisting staff in being prepared for emergency situations. SERT became an accredited elective for the 2002-2003 academic year and 66 students successfully completed the course. The program continues to be extremely popular. In 2003-2004, 25 more students graduated during the fall, 32 are enrolled for the winter quarter, and another 48 are registered for the spring. Program outline, syllabus with course objectives, and assessment against Washington State Essential Academic Learning Requirements (EALRs) are available on request.

Brief Description: The University of Washington is a community of nearly 60,000 people, and its residents depend on it for livelihood, sustenance, housing, and many other services. In order to better prepare the campus for disasters, the UW Office of Emergency Management supports the establishment of Campus Emergency Response Teams (CERT�s) in University buildings. Brief Description: The Skagit CERT program began in April, 2000 and is organized and managed cooperatively by the Skagit County Department of Emergency Management and the City of Mount Vernon Fire Department. Skagit CERT concentrates on delivering the CERT program to school district personnel, county and municipal employees, and the general public.To date, approximately 200 persons have been CERT-trained within Skagit County. Skagit CERT graduates are strongly encouraged to complete additional training in first-aid and CPR as well as participate in Skagit CERT on-going training classes. In addition, a 4-hour CERT overview cours has been developed for delivery to local school district personnel for use as in-service staff training or as a CERT refresher course. Brief Description: The Spokane Valley Fire Department utilizes the national CERT curriculum. Our program trains citizens in the boundaries of the fire department covering the cities of Spokane Valley, Liberty Lake, Millwood and an unincorporated area. The program has 2 initial 7 week classes a year, one in the spring and one in the fall. Along with 6 continuing education training nights, 3 in the spring and 3 in the fall with a 1/2 day scenario based drill in May. Brief Description: American Red Cross Clallam County Chapter along with Olympic Area Agency on Aging has trained care providers on emergency preparedness, actions which may be needed in different disasters in the two county area, and self awareness and preparedness. Brief Description: Port Ludlow Fire and Rescue is dedicated to provide emergency fire and a medical service to its citizens at all times. Brief Description: Clark Regional Emergency Services Agency (CRESA) provides administrative assistance and regional coordination for several fire departments' CERT programs within Clark County. Five CERT jurisdictions within Clark County include Central (Brush Prairie/ Battle Ground area), East (Camas-Washougal area), North (Yacolt area), West (Salmon Creek, Hazel Dell, Felida, Ridgefield and La Center), and Vancouver. All districts use the same CERT uniform and offer full reciprocity for classes, make up sessions, and refresher training for CERTs with Clark County. The curriculum is based upon standard CERT material, and is taught by local subject matter experts.

Brief Description: Port Ludlow Fire and Rescue is dedicated to provide emergency fire and a medical service to its citizens at all times.
