Brief Description:	We have had a CERT program in place since 1998. We have over 80 trained team members as well as many teams within the business community. This year, we merged with two other communities, Fair Lawn and Ridgewood, NJ and are teaching classes for all three jurisdictions. This offers a better class and more assistance when required. CERT members attend a variety of other training courses including Shelter Managers, Animal Preparedness, and Communications. They also partiicapate in annual full scale exercises and drills. Our program has gotten the attention of the White House Citizen Corps office, the Chicago Tribune, and MSNBC. The students attend 3 hour classes, 1 night a week for 9 weeks (27 hours). Brief Description:	This CERT training class was a pilot program presented to student Community Service Officers at the university. These students assist the Rutgers Police Department in its operations including emergency management. Brief Description:	The Garden State Parkway Division CERT program is divided into three sections; South, Central and North. The South team completed training in December of 2004. Central team training is set to begin in March of 2005 with the North team to be formed during late Spring 2005. The goal of the Parkway CERT team is to provide additional assistance to our State Police in the event of a catastrophic emergency. Additional training and participation in local Emergency Management drills are part of the continuing training offered to the Parkway division CERT members. Once employees have successfully completed CERT training, they are encouraged to volunteer in their local CERT programs.

Brief Description:	The Plainsboro Twp. C.E.R.T. program currently consists of 77 trained C.E.R.T. members, and future trainings are being scheduled. The goal of the Plainsboro Twp. C.E.R.T. program is to provide community members with training to help them prepare for and respond to emergencies, and to assist professional emergency personnel in the event of a widespread disaster. Additionally, Plainsboro C.E.R.T. members have assisted the Plainsboro Police Dept. in numerous non-emergency functions. C.E.R.T. members educate the community about disaster preparedness at town gatherings and Community Safety events, and assist with Police administrative assignments. The Plainsboro Twp. C.E.R.T. members have established their own association that promotes organizational development and emergency response training. The Plainsboro Twp. C.E.R.T. association also hosts emergency preparedness seminars that community members and surrounding area C.E.R.T. teams can attend. The Community Outreach, Resource and Education (C.O.R.E.) Brief Description:	The Ramsey Office of Emergency Management is committed to recruiting, training, equipping and most importantly, retaining citizens interested in serving their community through the CERT program. After an initial orientation, team members are encouraged to complete additional courses at the Bergen County Law and Public Safety Institute. CERT members responded and assisted in the Blackout of August 14, and the standby for Tropical Storm Isabel. Their assistance was greatly appreciated! A CERT trainee is currently at the Bergen County PD/OEM CERT course and has been asked to assist in teaching the Police Auxiliary curriculum, in the Spring of 2004. Brief Description:	The Borough of Lodi's CERT program has graduated two classes, and is comprised of 45 members. In addition to CERT training, a majority of our members have received American Heart Association CPR certification. Also, members have received some training in traffic control and communications. The CERT has already responded to several emergency incidents, have been placed on standby for others, as well as assisting with several planned events. They have also participated in continued training in joint drills with other local agencies. They have been utilized for manning shelters and reception areas, assisting with crowd and traffic control, directing staging areas and security. Further, the CERT played a key role in escorting and protecting young children when a local youth center had to be evacuated. Lodi CERT is planning another training class to begin in September, 2005. Brief Description:	The South Jersey Transportation Authority (SJTA)is designated by New Jersey Statute as a quasi-government state agency which owns and operates the Atlantic City Expressway and the Atlantic City International Airport. The SJTA CERT will be comprised of employees of the SJTA. Briefly, the SJTA employs craftsmen, public works, heavy equipment operators, EMS/Fire, office and clerical staff among other disciplines. Brief Description:	The Ewing, NJ Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program trains citizens to be better prepared to respond to emergency situations. Our CERT members give critical support to first responders (police, fire, emergency medical services) they provide immediate assistance to victims, organize volunteers at a disaster site, and collect disaster intelligence to support first responder efforts. These groups can provide immediate assistance to victims in our community, organize spontaneous volunteers who have not had the training, and collect disaster intelligence that will assist our professional responders with prioritization and allocation of resources following a disaster. The CERT course is taught through out the year by the Ewing Police Office of Emergency Management. CERT training includes disaster preparedness, disaster fire suppression, basic disaster medical operations, shelter operations, search/rescue operations and many other emergency response courses. We believe the CERT course will benefit any citizen who takes it. This individual will be better prepared to respond to and cope with the aftermath of a disaster. Brief Description:	Brielle's CERT team consists over 50 members. Our first class graduated in December 2003 with 36 members, the second class, with 16 participants completed its training in December 2004. A third training session is scheduled for Spring 2005. In early 2004 this team received its first assignement - responding to a major oil spill on the coastal beaches of Monmouth County. Ther Brielle Office of Emergency Management and the CERT coordinated initial damage assessments for the southern portion of the Monmouth County Atlantic Ocean Beaches and the Manasquan River. Later in 2004 the Brielle CERT worked with the Bricktownship Police Department, Ocean County Prosecutors Office, Monmouth County Prosecutors Office, and NJ Task Force One in searching for a missing teenager who was later confirmed murdered and whose body was found buried in a densely wooded section of Ocean County. The Brielle CERT is comprised of well trained volunteers with varying backgrounds. Many are experienced firefighters, EMT, RN's.

Brief Description:	The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program helps train Secaucus residents to be better prepared to respond to emergency situations and planned events in Secaucus. Brief Description:	The New Jersey Community Resource Center has initiated an effort to train local faith groups in the basics of emergency readiness by using the CERT program. Once a local group has a functioning CERT they will be further trained to operate or participate in a local Volunteer Reception Center during a disaster mobilization. Further, leadership from the faith group will be included in crisis intervention training offered by the NJCRC. More information on this training can be found at www.icisf.org The primary goal is to minimize the response of unaffiliated volunteers from local faith groups and to connect them through a recognized protocol to their county emergency manager for use.
