Brief Description: DC-CERT folows the training and guidelines establishged by Missouri State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA). The Team members can respond both indepentently and as a Team to persorm taks necessary to provide response to emergencies, and support the law enforcement, fire, rescue, and other emergency personnel when needed. The first CERT training class has been certified, and the next class is being planned for February, 2004. Dunklin County is located on the west side of the "Bootheel" of Missouri. The county is mostly a flat agriculture county with multi transportation routes Dunklin County is in the New Madrid Seismic Zone Intensity VIII area, is subject to flooding from the Mississippi River on the east, the St. Francis River on the west, and Lake Wappapello to the north. This area is also in "Tornado Alley", and has recorded 23 tornadoes (2 deaths) since 1996. The Kennett Fire Department has an equiped and trained HAZMAT Team, Fire Rescue Team, and WMD Team (573-888-4512).

Brief Description: .The St. Charles County Community Emergency Response Team, (SCC-CERT), was formed in the Spring of 2000, under the sponsorship of the St. Charles County Division of Emergency Management. SCC-CERT is currently comprised of 12 CERT instructors and over 35 CERT Team members. SCC-CERT training is coordinated jointly between the SCC Division of Emergency Management and CERT Instructors affiliated with the Emergency Communications Association of St. Charles County, and St. Charles County Search, Rescue, and Recovery. SCC-CERT works in partership with other local and regional CERT Teams to provide training and exercise programs. SCC-CERT is devoted in providing the St. Charles County community with dedicated and trained personnel to aid Public Safety Responders in the event of a major emergencies or disasters in St. Charles County and surrounding areas. In August 2004, SCC-CERT deployed seven team members for up to eight weeks, in response to a FEMA request for CERT trained personnel to serve as FEMA Community Relations personnel and team leaders in federally declared disaster areas of western North Carolina.

Brief Description: The City of Hazelwood is developing a series of Neighborhood Teams made up of citizen volunteers. The City recognizes that citizens would very likely be on their own during the early stages of a catastrophic disaster. Accordingly, Hazelwood Emergency Management Agency decided that organized training in disaster survival and rescue skills would improve the ability of neighborhoods to cope until responders or other assistance could arrive. Our program is based on the neighbor helping neighbor principle. To be a CERT team member takes a commitment; a commitment to give your time and energy to an organization everyone hopes will never be called into action. The benefits will reach beyond emergency response. As evidenced in other parts of the country, neighborhoods become more cohesive, new lasting friends are made, and members truly feel a part of the community. Brief Description: We are a business with approximately 1500 employees and we have 3 shifts. We have an Emergency Response Program with 11 trained First Responders in the American Red Cross Emergency Response Course they are also trained as our Cert Team or as we call it BERT(Business Emergency Response Team). Additionally we have another 44 First Responders trained in the American Red Cross Workplace Standard First Aid/CPR/AED, Oxygen Administration and all responders recieve training in BloodBorne Pathogens and Intro to Hazmat. As part of the companies efforts to take care of its employees there are 14 AED's, 16 emergency oxygen bottles(2) emergency trauma medical golf carts and trauma cabinets throughtout the plant. We established an Emergency Medical Agreement with DePaul Hospitals Emergency Services and Dr Kevin Mitchell acts as our Medical Control Officer assisted by the EMS Director Joan Eberhardt and EMS Manager Joe Piskulic they also provide all of our emergency protocols. GKN also has (1) Security Officer/EMT assigned to each shift that responds to any injury beyond the scope of care for a responder. The American Red Cross acts as consultant for the company in areas of Health and Safety and Disaster Services. We also have an Emergency Preparedness Safety Coordinator. In addition to teaching the Cert training she teaches all of the American Red Cross Health and Safety courses, acts as the AED Coordinator and assist the Security Manager with the companies Emergency Plan. There are (3) Cert(Bert) Team Classes being taught for 2004 (5) more for 1st shift,(6) responders for 2nd shift and (5) for 3rd shift. that would give us 27. Because this program has been received so well throughout GKN' operations it is being considered for some of its other locations.

Brief Description: Our program began as the Portageville CERT in 2003. With the formation of our Citizen Corps Council, we are expanding our CERT programs to all of the communities in our county. Are goal is to teach the citizens in our communities to be as prepared as possible in the event of a large scale disaster on the New Madrid Seismic Zone. We have implemented the CERT Level System in our training. (Levels I,II,III,IV) We also require (Team Members) to volunteer time with the Red Cross. This helps to ensure that volunteers have experience in dealing with disaster related activities and will hopefully help our communities to move from the response phase to recovery phase with minimal problems.

Brief Description: The Dixon Weather Service is a non profit, public service skywarn agency and storm chase team that serves the local portions of Central Missouri. We are CERTIFIED by the National Weather Service (NWS) for SKYWARN operations which means our storm spotters, storm chasers and weather observers are trained by the (NWS) and we have our certification on file. Our pledge is to become the most reliable source of weather information for the city of Dixon along with tracking, confirming and documenting severe weather events in the city of Dixon and it's entire operational area which includes parts of the following Missouri counties: Pulaski, Phelps, Maries and Miller.
