Brief Description: Erlanger has 21 existing trained and equipped, enthusiastic members. Another training class will begin on 11 August 2004. The training materials are being updated and advertising in local media has begun. Media coverage of the first team has been excellent in both print and TV. Brief Description: Warren County has established a Citizens Corps Council that meets monthly, this Council was appointed by Warren County Judge Executive Michael Buchanon. Brief Description: We conduct CERT training in Paducah and McCracken Co. Kentucky. Seven of our City and County Emergency Response members have taken FEMA's Train-the-trainer CERT course in Emmitsburg, Md. We offer CERT training to neighborhoods, hospital staff, school empolyees, and other interested members of the community. We have used our CERT trained citizens in disaster exercises. Brief Description: Woodford County combined the Medical Reserve Corps with the Community Emergency Response Team. We offer up to 30 hours of basic training for volunteers and additional training on various topics are also offered. A number of local agencies teach the courses. The team is designed to be available to assist first responder agencies during times of disaster and are being implemented into local emergency operations plans including public health preparedness plans. Volunteers are also encouraged to participate community and team building events such as health education, distribution of information at local fairs and festivals, and tours of local facilities.

Brief Description: Due to Lake Barkley State Resort Park being a state organization, local response is not top priority and the state responders are too far away. Therefore, park management has developed and provided training for CERT teams on the park to assist and evacuate employees and guests of the park during a major disaster or emergency until local or state 911 responders arrive. Due to the Lakes geographical location, LBSRP-CERT Team is a part of the Pennyrile Regional Citizen Corps.

Brief Description: The LDS-CERT Team is progressing very well on their training & organizational efforts. I had the opportunity to sit in on part of a class & this team has approximately 30 members. After completing their "Basic-CERT- Training", they will meet on a monthly basis. Team membership is open to any resident of Christian County. The Team Leader has expressed an interest in taking the CERT TtT Course when it is offered again. Also- they have a Nurse on the team that is Certified to teach CPR & 1st Aide through the American Heart Association. They will be included on our continuing "Incident Command System IS-100, and NIMS IS-700 Training in 2008. The team projects a positive aura & we have high hopes for their success.
