A notice has been issued giving interested persons until June 3, 2002, to request a hearing on an application filed by The Wachovia Funds, et al. for an order exempting applicants from Section 17(a) of the Investment Company Act. The order would permit certain series of registered open-end management investment companies to acquire all of the assets and certain identified liabilities of certain other series of the investment companies.
