A notice has been issued giving interested persons until March 1, 2002, to request a hearing on an application filed by Nuveen Exchange-Traded Index Trust, et al. for an order to permit an open-end management investment company, whose portfolios will consist of the component securities of certain domestic or foreign equity securities indices, to issue shares of limited redeemability that will trade in the secondary market at negotiated prices. The order also will permit certain affiliated persons of the portfolios to deposit securities into, and receive securities from, the portfolios, and will permit certain portfolios to pay redemption proceeds more than seven days after the tender of shares for redemption under certain circumstances.
