Action Request: Tell Us How Your Station Impacts Your Community
The ThinkBig initiative will create a critical framework that will enable us to communicate with key stakeholders and policymakers your important value to the public. We are asking all stations to tell us what they have done and what they will do to show how their stations impact their communities. We want to know which initiatives you feel most proud of.
We ask that all stations answer three questions to help us articulate the value stations provide in their communities. To make this process easier for you, we have created an online submission form.
Please submit your responses by Friday, October 31, 2008.
Thank you!
A Campaign to Increase Federal Funding
In October 2007, APTS launched its ThinkBig campaign to significantly increase federal funding for public broadcasting over the next five years. Since its launch, ThinkBig has been endorsed by PBS, NPR, CPB, the Public Television Major Market Group, the Small Station Association, the BETA Group and the University Licensee Association. With this wide spread support from our industry, APTS has been working with stations and outside consultants alike to advance this campaign.
In order to reach our goal, ThinkBig will take on two charges: a new vision, or mission statement, for the future of public broadcasting in the digital age and a key contact network to help spread our message to Capitol Hill. Below is a one page document summarizing the status of these two initiatives.
