$2 million EPA Brownfields grant to Oklahoma City

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency awarded a $2 million Brownfields grant to Oklahoma City, OK, to help protect human health and the environment.

Oklahoma City will use the grant to establish a Brownfields Cleanup Revolving Loan Fund. Loans will be used to address contamination and promote redevelopment at several sites. Previous EPA grants to Oklahoma City have been leveraged into more than $57 million for Brownfields cleanup and assessment.

Three current priority projects are redevelopment of The Truman School Site into the Truman Community Center, redevelopment of the Will Rogers Public Housing site to reinstate 354 family residential units, and redevelopment of the historic Plaza Court Building for mixed-use retail and housing in downtown Oklahoma City.
