    ATTORNEY GENERAL RENO TO HOLD NEWS CONFERENCE IN MILWAUKEE
       TO ANNOUNCE SETTLEMENT IN JUSTICE DEPARTMENT'S FIRST
                  INSURANCE DISCRIMINATION CASE


     WASHINGTON, D.C. --  Attorney General Janet Reno, Assistant
Attorney General Deval L. Patrick, and U.S. Attorney Thomas
Schneider will hold a news conference today to announce a
settlement in the first case against an insurance company under
the Fair Housing Act alleging racial discrimination.
     Reno, Patrick, Schneider and others involved in the case
will outline the nature of the complaint and settlement against a
Wisconsin insurance company that allegedly violated federal civil
rights law by discriminating on the basis of race.
