Excessive Heat Criteria
NOAA's National Weather Service - Las Vegas, Nevada

WFO Las Vegas will issue excessive heat warnings for elevations below 4000 in their CWA when the forecast high temperature in Las Vegas is:

  1. 105 or higher from 9/12 to 5/31.

  2. When the forecast temperature at Las Vegas is within 3 degrees of the polynominal best-fit curve for daily record high temperatures at Las Vegas from 6/1 to about 8/6, then gradually transitioning back to a base of 105 by 9/12.
Climatology indicates these values would be met on approximately 10 days of the year.
