FY 2004 Grant Announcement : NTIA announces the award of $20.8 million to television, radio, and distance learning projects for FY 2004.

May 17, 2004:

Listing of Radio, Television, and Nonbroadcast Applications received for FY 2004. On March 31, 2004, PTFP received 201 applications in response to the February 11, 2004, Federal Register Notice of Availability of Funds.

May 10, 2004:

PEACESAT Deadline June 9, 2004. The Federal Register Notice of Availability of Funds and the Federal Funding Opportunity Notice for the Pan-Pacific Education and Communications Experiments by Satellite program (PEACESAT) were published on May 10, 2004, and are on NTIA's PEACESAT home page.

Deadline for All Applications - March 31, 2004.
We suggest you review the Federal Funding Opportunity Notice which has detailed discussion of FY 2004 PTFP application requirements and guidelines.

The Federal Register Notice of Availability of Funds which summarizes the FY 2004 grant round was published on February 11, 2004.

September 30, 2003:

FY 2003 Grant Announcement: NTIA announces the award of $14 million in additional projects; total of $40.7 million awarded for FY 2003.

May 22, 2003:

Listing of Radio and Nonbroadcast Applications received for FY 2003. On April 4, 2003, PTFP received 131 applications in response to the February 28, 2003, Federal Register Notice of Closing Date for Solicitation of Radio and Nonbroadcast Applications.

April 30, 2003:

Digital Television Grant Announcement. NTIA announces the award of $25 million in PTFP grants to 56 public telecommunications entities in 31 states.

March 28, 2003:

Notice of Availability of Funds. On February 20, 2003, legislation appropriating FY 2003 funds for the PTFP was completed. NTIA is now publishing this Notice to announce that $41.1 million is available for fiscal year 2003 PTFP grants.

February 28, 2003: Radio/Nonbroadcast Application Deadline - April 4, 2003

Federal Register Notice of the FY 2003 Radio and Nonbroadcast Grant Cycle. The deadline for receipt of ALL RADIO AND NONBROADCAST applications is 6 p.m., Friday, April 4, 2003. The deadline for receipt of television applications was November 19, 2002.
February 7, 2003:

Listing of Television Applications received for FY 2003. PTFP received 39 applications in response to the October 17, 2002, Federal Register Notice of Closing Date for Solicitation of Television Applications.
October 17, 2002:

The Deadline for ALL TELEVISION APPLICATIONS is November 19, 2002.

FY 2002 Grant Announcement. NTIA announces the award of $42 million in PTFP grants to 116 public telecommunications entities in 44 states and Puerto Rico.

April 2, 2002:

Listing of applications received for FY 2002. PTFP received 237 applications in response to the November 20, 2001, Federal Register Notice of Closing Date and the January 29, 2002 Federal Register Notice of Availability of Funds.
February 5, 2002:

Deadline for Receipt of FY 2002 Applications. The only applications PTFP may accept at this time are emergency applications due to catastrophic damage to equipment as a result of a natural or manmade disaster. If you believe that your station has suffered such damage, please review Section 2301.10 of the PTFP Rules and the FY 2002 Notice of Availablity of Funds, and then contact PTFP at (202) 482-5802.
January 29, 2002:

Federal Register Notice of Availability of Funds for FY 2002 Grant Cycle.
The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), U.S. Department of Commerce announces that approximately $25 million is available for award to applicants submitting applications in response to the Notice of Closing Date published November 20, 2001. Pursuant to P.L. 107-77, the Departments of Commerce, Justice, and State, the Judiciary, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2002, the Congress appropriated $41.1 million for Public Telecommunications Facilities Program grants. NTIA has allocated approximately $16 million from the $41.1 million for funding additional phases of multi-year projects initially funded in FY 2000 and FY 2001.
November 20, 2001: Application Deadline set for February 5, 2002

Federal Register Notice of the FY 2002 Grant Cycle.
The deadline for receipt of applications is 7 p.m., Tuesday, February 5, 2002. In February 2001, the Administration proposed an appropriation of $43.5 million to the PTFP for FY 2002. This proposal is currently before the Congress.

October 1, 2001:

FY 2001 Grant Announcement. NTIA announces the award of $42 million in PTFP grants to 105 public telecommunications entities in 43 states, the American Samoa, and the District of Columbia.

February 15, 2001:

Deadline for Receipt of FY 2001 Applications.
