About the Partners

The Tri-City Alumni Program was started by the Tri-City Development Council (TRIDEC), Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Tri-City Regional Chamber of Commerce, and Tri-Cities Visitor & Convention Bureau.

Tri-City Development Council (TRIDEC) is the lead economic development organization for Benton and Franklin Counties. TRIDEC works to create and sustain a region that is globally competitive—fueled by a diversified, technology-driven economy—and positioned to achieve sustained economic prosperity and opportunity for its business and residential communities. The goal is to ensure a competitive business environment that in turn creates high-wage, high-value jobs that maintain a high standard of living and quality of life. Economic development expertise at TRIDEC includes business retention and expansion, industrial recruitment, strategic and finance planning, and marketing and attraction.

Pacific Northwest National Laboratory is operated by Battelle for the U.S. Department of Energy. PNNL provides science and technology in health, environment, energy, and national security, with an annual business volume of more than $720 million. About 4,200 scientists, engineers, and other professionals conduct about 2,000 technology development projects annually for government and commercial customers. PNNL makes federally funded technology resources available to the private sector to diversify the economy and create high-value jobs for the Tri-Cities and Northwest region. Since 1965, more than 100 businesses have gotten their foundational technology or executives from PNNL. And more than 500 businesses have used technological and entrepreneurial assistance from PNNL to get started or to establish new product lines. Find out more from PNNL’s Economic Development Office.
