    what are plants like on mars

    We don't know, but it seems unlikely that there are any plants on Mars, or even something that resembles plants. Astrobiologists generally expect only microbial life on Mars, if anything at all lives there. The most promising locations are in subsurface liquid water. Since the Sun never shines there, plants (photosynthetic multi-celled organisms) would not be able to function. But we need to understand the habitability of Mars much better before we pass judgment on any life that might exist there. David Morrison
