    Reach Out to All Populations

    Reach out to and consider the needs of all racial and ethnic groups as you plan your program. Some medically underserved populations, e.g., Hispanics and American Indian/Alaskan Natives, have lower than average safety belt and child safety seat use rates than the general population. They also have higher incidence rates for crashes and fatalities. NHTSA works with many national organizations that have local affiliates to promote occupant protection.
