Biomass Resource Information

Photo of an NREL researcher checking the tubing of a small-scale bioreactor.

Dr. PinChing Maness checks a bioreactor that produces hydrogen via the fermentation of biomass.

Comprehensive biomass resource information is available from Oak Ridge National Laboratory's Bioenergy Feedstock Information Network. This Web site's Biomass Resources section offers a wealth of biomass resource-related information, including links to resource data for herbaceous crops, short-rotation woody crops, oil crops, agriculture residues, forestry residues, and municipal residues.

Biomass resource maps are also available from the NREL Dynamic Maps, GIS Data, and Analysis Tools Web site.
