Directions

This panel will tackle several issues related to the recent elections in Iraq, among them:

  1. The elections process and perceptions among Iraqis about its fairness & legitimacy;
  2. The potential for creating a government of national unity;
  3. The upcoming constitutional review process;
  4. The implications for the US government's role in Iraq and the future need for Coalition military forces;
  5. The potential alliances among Iraqi political parties;
  6. The future role of emerging civil society organizations and other groups (USIP, NDI, IRI, etc.).
  7. Presentations will be followed by questions from the floor.
