Web Manager University Training Program

Web Manager University offers practical and affordable training for web managers of federal, state, and local government websites. We provide web and usability specialists with a multidisciplinary curriculum that addresses the varied responsibilities of managing government websites.

Fall 2008 Semester

  • Registration is now open for the Fall 2008 semester.
  • Pre–registration and payment is required for all classes.
  • You can register and pay for multiple classes on one registration form.
  • Our new registration system allows you to register and pay for either a single registrant or multiple registrants. (note the registration form is hosted by a third–party vendor)
  • We expect some classes to fill quickly, so register early. We'll use a wait list if a class is full.

All government employees who work on federal, state, or local government websites are eligible to attend training offered by Web Manager University.

Contractors or other non-government professionals are welcome to attend the training; however, we may need to give priority to government employees in certain circumstances.

Types of Classes

Web Manager University offers four types of training sessions:

introductory sessions that typically last for 2 hours

more in-depth professional development sessions that typically last 1-2 days

Webinars: also referred to as “web conferencing,” these are live, short seminars presented via the Web. Participants view a presentation online and call-in to interact with the speaker and other participants.

full-day events for networking with peers and learning the latest best practices. Usually held each Spring.

Two-Hour Seminars:

$50 per seminar for government employees; $75 for non-government participants

One-Day Courses:

  • Once you complete the registration form, you’ll be asked to submit payment information.
  • Credit cards are the preferred payment method.
  • All credit card information is processed by secure servers. We accept American Express, Visa, and MasterCard.
  • If you’re unable to pay by credit card, read how to pay by check or purchase order.
  • GSA’s Office of Citizen Services and Communications sponsors Web Manager University. We use a private vendor to collect payment. If you need to provide information about who’s collecting the fees, here is the information about the vendor:

    PCI Communications, Inc.
    Attn: Accounts Receivable
    3015 Colvin Street
    Alexandria, VA 22314

For payment questions, contact Web Manager University or call 202-208-0668.

Cancellation Policy

If you’re unable to attend a class, you may transfer your registration to a colleague. If you wish to transfer your registration, please contact Web Manager University at 202-208-0668. However, if you paid the government rate, you cannot transfer your registration to a non-government employee.

You can also cancel your registration and get a full refund. To do so, we must receive your cancellation notice by 5PM EST at least one week in advance of each seminar or course. Cancellation requests must be emailed to Web Manager University. After that date, all registrations and payments are final.

Training Locations

All classes (except online webinars) are in the Washington, DC area, near public transportation.

If you’re outside the Washington, DC, area, we encourage you to attend a webinar, which is designed to meet the needs of web managers at any location. Because webinars are the only way that some web managers outside Washington can participate, we may give preference to them in certain circumstances.
