Administration & Staff
The Center is administratively housed at the Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory in Ann Arbor, Michigan. GLERL has a long history of research on invasive species and supports a broad program of AIS research covering prevention, ecosystem impacts and forecasting, and monitoring. When fully functional NCRAIS will partner with and draw on the expertise and resources throughout NOAA, the National Sea Grant Program and the Cooperative Institutes Program. CY2007 Workplan
- A Report to Congress on ballast water exchange will be completed and submitted for policy review and approval.
- Budget and program planning with the NOAA Invasive Species Program Management Team are on-going.
- A Hemimysis Survey and Monitoring Network and associated web site will be established.
- Development of an ISP Strategic Plan will be completed; NCRAIS will lead preparation of Research and Education and Outreach components.
- NOAA AIS Accomplishments during 2006 will be compiled and a report prepared.
- A review and revision of the national Invasive Species Research Protocol will be conducted and reported to the Research Committee of the ANS Task Force.
- Development of the Great Lakes Aquatic Nonindigenous Species Information System (GLANSIS) will be completed and implemented on-line.
