Taxpayer Usage Study (TPUS)

These reports contain estimates on the number of returns reporting certain income and tax items and are based on a daily random sample of individual income tax returns that are filed at IRS service centers and lock-box sites during the filing season. These data are then processed and posted on a weekly basis approximately from February through April. A final report is issued at the end of August.
