2008 GDEST Conference held in Cape Town, South Africa

The 2008 Global Dialogues on Emerging Science and Technology (GDEST) Conference was held during March 17-19 in Cape Town, South Africa. The GDEST conference series was conceived and initiated by the Office of the Science and Technology Adviser to the Secretary of State in liaison with the National Academies to promote mutually beneficial scientific exchanges between American researchers and their foreign counterparts on new or emerging research themes. 2008 Annual Aerosol Update
March 12, 2008
Aerocenter’s sixth annual aerosol update was held March 4, 2008, 1:30-4:30, in Room H144. This year’s update was chaired by Peter Colarco, and included two committee members from Code 613.2, Santiago Gassó, and Robert Levy. It was well attended, and included representation from Laboratory, NASA Headquarters, and GSFC management.

This year’s update broke with the traditional PI oriented format. Instead of a dozen ten-minute research focused presentations, we envisioned four twenty-minute “synthesis” talks, where each presenter would organize GSFC-wide research to address some basic scientific questions about aerosols.
