Available Flood Information:

Widespread heavy rain began the afternoon of December 30, 2005 and continued until mid-morning of December 31, 2005. Widespread flooding occurred throughout the Carson River Basin including tributaries in Carson Valley, Carson City and the Dayton Valley area. Streamflow data from the USGS indicate the flow at East Fork Carson River near Gardnerville, Nev., (gaging station 10309000) peaked at 9,730 cubic feet per second (cfs); the flow at West Fork Carson River at Woodfords, Calif., (gaging station 10310000) at 2,720 cfs; the flow at Carson River near Carson City, Nev., (gaging station 10311000) at 11,900 cfs, and the flow at Carson River at Fort Churchill, Nev., (gaging station 10312000) at 9,800 cfs.

Meteorological:
Type of event: rain at lower elevation and rain-on-snow at higher elevations.

Description:
Widespread rain began on December 30 and lasted through December 31, 2005. The National Weather Service Minden precipitation gage reported over 2 inches of rain.
