MODIS Data Workshop
January 23, 2007
NASA Goddard Spaceflight Center in conjunction with the University of Maryland Baltimore County held a MODIS data workshop from January 8-10, 2007. The overbooked workshop was attended by 75 participants from all over the U.S. and also included visitors from as far away as Finland. The goal of the workshop was to help new and experienced users of MODIS data to learn, via presentations and hands-on activities, how to access, order, understand and analyze MODIS products. This was the first workshop of its kind in that it combined information from all of the MODIS product groups - Air, Land, and Atmosphere. Additional presentations included information on the AERONET sunphotometer network, the GIOVANNI suite of on-line MODIS analysis tools, NEO visualization and analysis tools, and ENVI/IDL analytical software. A similar workshop, to be held in Mexico this coming August, is in the planning stages.
