JANET L. KAMERMAN NAMED SAC IN HONOLULU

Washington, D.C. – Janet L. Kamerman was selected as Special Agent in Charge (SAC) of the Honolulu Division, Federal Bureau of Investigation, a position to which she was appointed by Director Robert S. Mueller III earlier this month.

A 17-year veteran of the FBI, Ms. Kamerman entered on duty as a Special Agent in July 1989. Immediately prior to her selection as SAC, Honolulu, Ms. Kamerman served as Special Assistant to Director Mueller. In this position, Ms. Kamerman provided counsel to the Director on a variety of policy and administrative matters. She also assisted in the preparation for the Director's events and meetings, domestic and international travel, and ensured the resolution of day to day issues. Ms. Kamerman also served the FBI as an Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC) of the Washington D.C. Field Office; as Unit Chief and Supervisor at FBI Headquarters; as a Supervisor in the Houston Field Office; and as an investigative agent in the Houston Field Office. During her field assignments, Ms. Kamerman worked a variety of investigative matters to include organized crime/narcotics, international terrorism, and white collar crime investigations and as a surveillance agent on the Special Operations Group.

Prior to entering the FBI, Ms. Kamerman served in the U.S. Army as a Military Police Officer.

Ms. Kamerman earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Delaware, Newark, Delaware.
