Dr. Hong-Wei Sun joined the NIAMS IRP as Chief of the new Biodata Mining and Discovery Section, located within the Office of Science and Technology. Prior to joining NIAMS, Dr. Sun headed the Systems Biology group of a local company, Viaken . He is a biologist by training with extensive experience in Bioinformatics -- Biodata Mining in particular. He is interested in developing In Silico approaches and integrating them into the research programs of the IRP. Dr. Sun obtained his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Iowa and conducted postdoctoral research at the Yale University School of Medicine.
